RS3 8Y Styling Guide: OEM+ Exterior Upgrades

The 8Y RS3 arrives with more visual intent than any RS3 before it. The wider arches, the offset oval tips, the matrix headlight signature — Audi already did most of the work. The OEM+ approach to this car is not about adding presence; it is about editing what is already there.

Front lip & splitter

The factory front bumper has a flat lower lip that benefits from a subtle splitter extension in matte or gloss black. The line you are protecting is the leading edge of the bumper itself — anything that disrupts that horizontal is wrong for this car.

Mirror caps

Pre-preg carbon mirror caps are the single highest-impact change you can make to the 8Y. They tie into the matrix DRL, the carbon roof option, and the existing aluminium trim without shouting.

Rear diffuser inserts

The factory diffuser is restrained on purpose. Replace the inserts, not the diffuser itself — the OEM moulding is the right shape.

  • 01Avoid: large wings, fake vents, contrast-coloured trim
  • 02Consider: gloss black grille frame, carbon canards, blacked badges
  • 03Leave alone: the headlight bezels, the side skirts, the tailgate spoiler

OEM+ on the 8Y is a discipline of subtraction. The car already knows what it is.
